West Gallery Links
You can find vast amounts of information on West Gallery music at the West Gallery Music Association web site. Reviews of books and CDs, and a wealth of literary references, can be found on the West Gallery Resources page. The Larks of Dean and the Gladly Solemn Sound are choirs in the north of England who sing West Gallery music. And in neighbouring Warwickshire you'll find Immanuel's Ground whose website contains a lot more information about West Gallery music. Dave Townsend is also a member of the Mellstock Band which plays music that would have accompanied West Gallery singing. On the other side of the Atlantic, Sacred Harp or Fasola singing has a lot in common with West Gallery music; indeed they share a common origin. If you can provide a link to to our site do let me know and we'll provide one back again. |
